Summary
Subramanian's reciprocity relation for linearly polarized beams, has been generalized in terms of Stokes' vectors of the scattered beams for an optical system and its reciprocal system. An experimental proof is given which establishes the validity of the proposed relation, along with Mueller's reciprocity theorem as a well. The generalized relation is applicable to beams of all possible polarization forms.
