Abstract
We consider the quantization of a 1+1 dimensional field theory with kink solutions on a null plane. We present a field expansion which diagonalizes the operatorM 2=2P + P − including first order quantum corrections, reobtaining thereby the well known result for the kink mass. The quantization scheme treats classical solutions of different rapidity on an equal footing and the translation mode cancels completely, at least in the order considered here.
