Abstract
The Webber, Henyey and Pumplin and overlap function methods are used to determine lower boundsb L on the r.m.s. impact parameter of the exclusive reactionK + p→K + pπ+σ- in 13 experiments with incidentK + momentum between 2.7 and 32 GeV/c. The bounds initially increase with incident momentum and then tend to become constant. They depend only weakly on the mass of the diffractively produced (K +π+π-) system. Structure is observed in the dependence ofb L on the longitudinal CMS momenta of the π+ and π-.
