Conclusions
-
1.
As a result of an experimental investigation of a rather broad range, we obtained systematic information about the parameters of uniform rapid flow at the time of occurrence of aeration, which can be used for developing objective initial notions needed both when developing new and when evaluating existing aeration criteria.
-
2.
The information obtained in the study indicate a fundamental error of aeration criteria of type (3) and type (4).
-
3.
The experimental data of the study confirm by a new example the existence of a special law of resistance of uniform rapid unaerated flows in smooth-walled flumes and the earlier established values (6) of the parameters for which dependence (5) qualitatively and quantitatively describes this law.
