Abstract
We have treated a patient with a nodular amyloidosis in the center of the dorsum of the tongue. Ultrastructural observations of human amyloidosis have been reported by many investigators, but there have been few reports of nodular amyloidosis of the tongue. Ultrastructural investigation showed a number of amyloid fibrils around and in the plasmocytoid cells, and severe pressure atrophy was found in many stromal cells, especially in endothelial cells.
