Combined intervention for controlling unwanted homosexual behavior: An extended follow-up

Abstract

Of 49 patients who were able via previous therapy to control their sexual arousal in the presence of homosexual stimuli, 31 (63%) were contacted for follow-up. The average period since the end of treatment was 4 years. Nineteen subjects (61%) have remained exclusively heterosexual, whereas nine (29%) have had homosexual intercourse. Heterosexual intercourse was reported in 28 (90%), including the previous nine subjects. Three (10%) subjects have had neither homonor heterosexual intercourse.
