Conclusions
-
1.
The relative scatter (variance factor) of the number of cycles of crack extension by the given length depends on the magnitude of this extension and is independent of the range of the stress intensity factor.
-
2.
Relationships were derived, and their adequacy to the experimental data was verified, for estimating the total relative scatter of the number of cycles of crack extension by the given length in the specimens and structures.
-
3.
A method was proposed of testing and processing the test results for determining the quantile characteristics of the life of structures on the basis of the method of linear fracture mechanics.
