Re-exploring anger: Its dynamics and treatment

Abstract

The conventional wisdom in counseling circles has been that persons filled with anger basically need catharsis. Recent thinking challenges this assumption. New questions arise, such as why is the anger necessary, and whose responsibility is it to deal with it? Some dynamics are discussed, and two case illustrations are presented.
