Study of the strength of enamel coatings with static and cyclic bending

Strength of Materials Aims and scope

Abstract

It has been shown that in bending a metal-enamel composite due to nonuniform distribution of strain over its cross section and the barrier effect of the interface there is suppression of plastic strain and strain hardening of the metal layers in contact with the coating. As a result of this static and cyclic strain of the coating does not depend on the nonuniform nature of plastic strain for the base and it is governed by the amount of residual compressive stresses.
