The Rev. Paul E. Johnson, Ph.D., Danielson Professor of Psychology and Pastoral Counseling Emeritus in the Boston University School of Theory, spent 1963–64 teaching pastoral counseling in Japanese universities and seminaries and consulting with pastors and teachers in the development of counseling and mental health activities in Japan. He was Director of the Indianapolis Pastoral Counseling Center in 1965–68 and from 1966 to 1971 Visiting Professor of Pastoral Care in the Christian Theological Seminary in Indianapolis. Dr. Johnson was a leader in the field of pastoral counseling and the clinical education of ministers. He was a frequent contributor to theJournal of Religion and Health and to many other periodicals in this and related areas. He died on September 1, 1974.
