Sheridan Neimark is a lawyer in private practice. He currently serves as a director of and counsel to the National Society for Autistic Children, and is vice-chairman of the Maryland Developmental Disabilities Council.

Most of these patients do not have a specific diagnosis, i.e., phenylketonuria or congenital rubella-they only have a label of a symptom complex such as “autism” or “schizophrenia.”

In the National Board of the American Civil Liberties Union on June 22, 1966, the ACLU noted with concern the possible invasions of privacy in the growing use of psychological testing. There currently is a committee of the organization reviewing these procedures. This whole area falls under the aegis of theprivacy orconfidentiality issue. The minutes of the meeting held on June 22, 1966 are reported in thePolicy Guide of the American Civil Liberties Union (1976).
