Abstract
By applying the Poisson summation formula to the Markovian chain result for protein gating kinetics, we derive a fractal scaling law that indicates something about the origin of the power-law behavior. As a by-product we obtain an amplitude to rate correlation that bridges the gap between Markov and fractal gating models. The predictions of the model will be compared with experimental data sets.
