Summary
In chronic uremia serum-vitamin D-activity was 0,51±0,082 IU/ml and was significantly (p<0,02) lower than both in normal controls (0,98 IU ±0,14 IU/ml) and in tumor cachexy. After successful renal homotransplantation, not, however, after chronic hemodialysis serum-vitamin D-activity returned to normal (1,45 IU/ml; p<0,05).
