Zusammenfassung

Summary

Rats with rickets have been shown to have impaired phagocytosis of Escherichia coli. It has been proven, that the serum opsonizing activity is responsible for this fact. Dependence of phagocytosis on age have been observed. The findings provide a possible explanation on diminished resistence to infection in rickets.
