Summary
In vitro investigations on the131J-Insulin binding capacity of serum were carried out under increasing doses of tolbutamide and glybenclamide. Under tolbutamide free131J-Insulin increased less in sera of healthy persons and juvenile onset diabetics, more in insulin-resistant patients, and most in patients with adult-onset diabetics. Under glybenclamid, which has a distinctly stronger betacytotropic activity than tolbutamide, no changes in the binding capacity could be observed.
