Summary
Glucocorticoids given to rabbits treated with a N-acetyl-p-aminophenol-load in contrary to sugars are not able to enhance glucuronide formation within the first three hours after application. The intravenous gift of prednisolone esters in high doses rather resulted in a decrease of glucuronide synthesis, which could be explained by known early effects of corticoids on metabolism. Furthermore there was an increased retention of the already formed glucuronides under the influence of the glucocorticoids. The conjugation of glucocorticoids themselves with glucuronic acid is of no importance in quantitative respects, so that competition with other aglycons is not worth mentioning.
