Simple relations for nuclear moments

II. Electric quadrupole moments of quasi-rotational states in even-even nuclei

Abstract

Based on the rotationally invariant core model a simple expression is derived which relates the electric quadrupole moments of quasi-rotational states of even-even nuclei to the excitation energies of the corresponding levels. This relationship is successfully tested on available experimental data. Also a comparison is made with other simple approaches for transitional quadrupole moments deduced from intraband B(E2) values.
