Wirkdauer von Pindolol bei chronischen Urämikern

Duration of biological activity of pindolol in uremics

Summary

The duration of biological activity of pindolol following short and long term application was tested using a modified isoproterenol-sensitivity-test. Following a single dose of pindolol the β-blocking activity in uremics was increased to twice the activity seen in normal controls. Following daily oral application of 10 mg Pindolol over a number of weeks the β-blockade observed in patients with chronic renal failure was significantly stronger and the duration of action was 6 times longer than in normal controls.

Zusammenfassung

Anhand eines modifizierten Isoproterenol-Sensitivity-Testes wurde die biologische Wirkdauer von Pindolol im Akut- und Dauerversuch getestet. Nach einmaliger Pindololgabe war die β-Rezeptoren-blockierende Wirkung bei Urämikern gegenüber den Kontrollpersonen auf das Doppelte verlängert. Schon bei einer Dauermedikation von 10 mg Pindolol oral pro Tag über mehrere Wochen ist bei Urämikern eine deutlich stärkere und 6 mal länger anhaltende β-blockierende Wirkung nachweisbar im Vergleich zu gesunden Kontrollpersonen.
