16γ Chloroform nachweisbar.
Summary
Chloroform, when being treated with sodium hydroxide and ammonia, gives alkali cyanide. The latter is recognized after acidification by the blue colour due to the reaction which hydrocyanic acid gives with a mixture of either copper acetate and benzidine acetate, or copper acetate and an alcoholic solution of 2,7-diaminofluorene. In this way, 40 and 16γ chloroform, respectively, can be detected by drop reactions.
