Summary

In advanced cirrhosis of the liver a significant increase of the two antiplasmins a1-antitrypsin and a2-macroglobulin could be found. The urokinase inhibitor was similarly increased. However, the fibrinolytic activity in an inhibitor-free test system was elevated. The significance of these results in connection with endogenous fibrinolytic activity is discussed.
