Hydrotechnical Construction Aims and scope

Conclusions

  1. 1.

The parameters of the newly created complexes of HME with respect to design load, reliability, and operating run considerably broaden the technical possibilities of builders in harnessing the hydropower potential of large rivers and constructing high-head hydro developments.

  2. 2.

The technical and economic characteristics of the newly created universal complexes of hydromechanical equipment make it possible to introduce into hydrotechnical construction practice a new principle of developing startup schemes based on reequipping the complex of HME to higher heads, which eliminates the need for constructing additional outlet works, and thereby a considerable savings of material resources and labor expenditures is created and construction time is shortened.

  3. 3.

The successful use of progressive solutions and designs creating a considerable effect and shortening the construction time of hydropower structures is possible only as a result of the close interaction of all organizations participating in the process of research, development, and design and of the organizations implementing these solutions.

  4. 4.

To familiarize design engineers and builders with the technical and economic characteristics of HME and to elaborate the unique approach to the development of startup schemes of hydro developments and technology of constructing them as one of the most important indices of the economics of hydropower construction, it is necessary to conduct seminars with the participation of all departments and branches of the All-Union Planning, Surveying, and Scientific-Research Institute and construction and assembly organizations of Soyuzgidroénergostroi.
