Abstract
The angular correlation (ACAR) and positron lifetime (PL) measurements were used to investigate α-phase Pd1−x Au x alloys throughout the concentration range. The results show inapplicability of the Rigid Band Model to description of the electronic structure of these alloys. The behaviour of the annihilation rate λ against Au concentration indicates common-band type of the electronic structure whereas the small difference in interstitial electron densities for Pd and Au is characteristic, according to our earlier suggestion, for split-band alloys.
