Es wird auf die Eigenschaft der galvanokolloiden Metallhydroxyde hingewiesen, in Salzlösung hydrolytische Spaltungen zu bewirken und bald die Säure, bald die Base zu adsorbieren, ein Vorgang der für die Wasserenthärtung sowie die Theorie der Anfressung von Metallen Bedeutung besitzt.
