Abstract
We compute the energy emitted in the radiative recombination process (or radiated power loss) of point particles of chargeZe and −Z′e with nonrelativistic velocities and reduced massM, useful in a great variety of problems, averaged over Maxwellian and non-Maxwellian distributions. This has been accomplished using a recent parametrization, obtained by us, of the nonrelativistic, radiative recombination cross section in the dipole approximation, valid for all values of the energy.
