A central nucleon-nucleon force, consisting of two Gaussian potentials with general exchange mixtures, is adapted to the realistic matrix elements of Galonska, Faessler and Appel. The resulting effective interaction is discussed and tested in a projected Hartree-Fock calculation for8Be.
