Patient expectations and attendance in community treatment programs

Abstract

Newly admitted patients' expectations of community based treatment programs were studied. Those patients with unrealistically high expectations later made poor use of the program, that is, had poor attendance. The utility of a “socialization” or role-induction interview for prospective patients is suggested.
