Aerobic oxidation of cumene photocatalyzed by iron salts

Abstract

Photooxidation of cumene by air in an aqueous emulsion in the presence of Fe(ClO4)3 results in the formation of considerable amounts of acetophenone, the product of the C-C bond cleavage.
