On the electric nuclear quadrupole moments of135,137Ba

Abstract

Hyperfine structure (hfs) measurements have been carried out in the excited 6s 7p 1 P 1 and 5d 6p 1 P 1 and3P1states of Ba. The results are discussed with respect to inconsistencies in the evaluation of nuclear quadrupole moments from the Ba hfs.
