Use of analog values of rheological properties of concrete

  • Published:
Hydrotechnical Construction Aims and scope

Conclusions

  1. 1.

The use of analog values of the modulus of elasticity differing from the design value by not more than 0.3·104 MPa makes it possible to calculate stresses from measured strains with an error not exceeding 5%. In the case of large differences of the analog values of the modulus of elasticity from the design value, it is necessary to determine it experimentally.

  2. 2.

For a variation of the values of the limiting specific creep in the range (0.70–1.95)·10−3 1/MPa and for a level of stresses up to 7 MPa, the error in calculating the stresses does not exceed 9%, with the exception of the level of stresses 0.3 MPa.

  3. 3.

On the basis of investigating the possibility of using analog values of the rheological properties of concrete for calculating stresses of the construction period in the concrete dam of the Boguchany hydrostation, the values of the physical and mechanical characteristics of concrete of the dams of the Bratsk and Ust'-Ilim hydrostations were selected and are being used for routine monitoring.

  4. 4.

A comparison of the analog values and first experimental data of the physical and mechanical characteristics of concrete of the Boguchany dam will enable making a decision about the expediency of conducting further tests to determine the rheological properties of the concrete.
