Conclusions

The guard walls of the locks in the form of a continuous vertical wall of Larsen steel sheet pile anchored by metal rods to reinforced-concrete anchor slabs under favorable geological conditions (absence of rocks and very bouldery soils) are quickly and easily constructed. They are durable, economical, and simple to operate. A shortcoming of such guard walls is that Larsen stel sheet piles are scarce.
