Post collision interaction effects in the ionisation of helium and hydrogen by fast electrons

Abstract

Conspicuous effects from a weak post collision interaction have been identified in triply differential cross sections for the ionisation of helium and hydrogen by fast electrons. A classical correction to a first Born approximation describes experimental data at smaller values of the momentum transfer.
