Predictive calculation of siltation of mountain reservoirs

  • Published:
Hydrotechnical Construction Aims and scope

Conclusions

  1. 1.

It is recommended to calculate siltation of rapidly silting mountain reservoirs by dependences (5)-(8) with consideration of removal of sedimetns.

  2. 2.

To determine the first period of siltation, it is recommended to use the graphs in Fig. 2 generalizing the operating experience of the world's reservoirs.

  3. 3.

Flushing carried out to preserve the useful storage of a reservoir lead to losses of electrical energy. To solve the problem of the expediency of flushing, it is necessary to perform energy-economic calculations.
