Conclusions
-
1.
During operation of trash racks the realization of the design difference of levels on them and the presence of nonzero angles of attack lead to the occurrence of considerable transverse forces acting on the bars, which must be taken into account by a static calculation.
-
2.
Deformation of the bars in the plane of the rack can occur as a large span (between fastenings), which considerably increase the stresses in the bars.
-
3.
The following can be possible ways of improving the static work of bars in the plane of the rack:
An increase of the transverse rigidity of the bars — a decrease of the span by fastening the intermediate tie rods;
A decrease of the acting transverse forces — the use of bars having special profiles.
