Discontinuous wave on stretches of an abrupt expansion of a canal

  • Published:
Hydrotechnical Construction Aims and scope

Conclusions

  1. 1.

The experimental investigations of the interaction of a bore with an expansion in a certain range of variation of ho/Ho showed that the theoretical flow schemes are completely realized.

  2. 2.

The theoretical solutions obtained agree satisfactorily with the results of the experimental investigations and can be used for preliminary estimations of the values of the depths and cross-sectional average velocities at characteristic sites.
