Calculation of channel deformations of large earth canals with damless water intake from reservoirs

Hydrotechnical Construction Aims and scope

Conclusions

The use of the Irtysh River on the stretch of its outflow from Lake Zaisan as an analogue o a large earth canal with a damless intake confirms the possibility of determining the order of magnitude of general channel deformations by simplified balance and morphometric methods. The calculations performed can be used when designing canals under similar geological and hydrological conditions.
