1.
A method is proposed for testing rocks under conditions of volume confinement of deformations, which makes it possible to obtain the preultimate and ultimate moduli of deformation E of rock from tests of one specimen. The possibilities of the method were demonstrated for sandstones of the Zelenchuk hydrostation from the zone of hydraulic pressure tunnels.

2.
The values of the ultimate of deformation characteristic of the sandstone of the Zelenchuk hydrostation differing by an order of magnitude from the preultimate values were obtained.
