Abstract
We extend the Rotation-Vibration Model of Faessler and Greiner [1] assuming deformation dependent masses in the ansatz for the kinetic energy. With these additional terms we get a good description valid also for high deformations. The moment of inertia is well reproduced in both minima of the potential-energy surface. Shape-isomeric states, low energy levels and high-spin states are calculated for238U and compared with experiment.
