Abstract

Theg-factors of the first excited 3/2+ states of101Ru and95Mo have been measured by observing the rotation ofγ-γ directional correlations in the decays of 3.3y 101Rh and 61d 95mTc in external magnetic fields of about 9.5T provided by our split coil superconducting magnet. The results:

$$g_{{\raise0.5ex\hbox{$\scriptstyle 3$}\kern-0.1em/\kern-0.15em\lower0.25ex\hbox{$\scriptstyle 2$}}^ + } ({}^{101}Ru,127 keV) = - 0.157(8)$$

and

$$g_{{\raise0.5ex\hbox{$\scriptstyle 3$}\kern-0.1em/\kern-0.15em\lower0.25ex\hbox{$\scriptstyle 2$}}^ + } ({}^{95}Mo,204 keV) = - 0.269(8)$$

are by far more accurate than previous investigations some of which had given quite different results. Bothg-factors are quite well explained by the de Shalit model in its most simple version.

A measurement of the half-life of the 127 keV state of101Ru by delayed coincidences with CsF-detectors gave

$$T_{{\raise0.5ex\hbox{$\scriptstyle 1$}\kern-0.1em/\kern-0.15em\lower0.25ex\hbox{$\scriptstyle 2$}}} ({}^{101}Ru,127 keV) = - 0.66(1) ns$$

in disagreement with most previous measurements.
