Skyrme-Hartree-Fock treatment of asymmetric nuclear matter

Abstract

Asymmetric nuclear matter is studied, within the Hartree-Fock approach, employing the Skyrme force. It is seen that the asymmetry ratio can be considered to be an order parameter for phase transitions between a solid and a fluid phase.
