Abstract
The electromagnetic mass splittings of theΔ andγ members of the decuplet are estimated and the resulting decay widths are calculated, assumingSU(2)-invariance of the coupling constants for “unmixed” states. Three additional Coulomb corrections occur when deuterons are used as neutron targets. The combined effects onπ ± d total cross sections are given.
