Summary
A study was made of the behavior of typical metal salts in methanol as solvent in contrast to water in order to gain working possibilities for microanalytical investigational methods, especially as to trace analysis.
The practical application of the findings is given by an example of mineral analysis (beryl) where it is shown that a very substantial accumulation of the beryllium is obtained through alcoholic extraction. This procedure offers analytical-chemical as well as technological advantages.
