Summary
The author has traced, with the aid of theChevenard thermobalance, the pyrolysis curve, up to arround 1000° C, of different compounds obtained with the intention of determining beryllium by weighing its oxide. The accompanying table gives the minimum temperatures at which this oxide is obtained in practice. Certain methods of precipitation are new; thus the precipitate produced by means of ammonia gas filters easily, but the study of its spectrum byDebye andScherrer does not indicate that it may because of that crystallize in theα-hydroxide form.
