Abstract
A systematic investigation of the experimental results on hadron production in deep-inelastic muon-proton collisions is carried out in terms of the fire-string model. A satisfactory general agreement between theory and experiment is obtained, and, when discrepancies are found, they are throughly discussed also in view of an improvement in the formulation of the model. The same kind of analysis on more recent data from the same experiment is in progress.
