Extending the measuring range of moving-coil voltmeters and kilovoltmeters

Conclusions

The use of nonwire-wound precision MGP resistors is expedient in making individual multiplying resistors for moving-coil voltmeters and kilovoltmeters with a small full-scale deflection current. This problem becomes particularly topical in view of the recent tendency to increase the production of scale deflection currents.

It is possible to use MGP resistors which are first selected according to their initial parameters for making calibrated multipler resistances.
