Methods of surface carburizing and alloying steel by means of carbon fiber materials

Abstract

Carbon fibers and textiles based on them are being used increasingly to reinforce composites. In this article we report the results of inetallographic research on the surface layers formed by passing an electric current through a hardened steel part and a fabric or felt made of a carbon-fiber material on its surface.
