Conclusions

Because of the fine-grained structure of minerals and the close association of impurities with the periclase, fired magnesite is classified as a raw material which is difficult to beneficiate. We developed a scheme for beneficiating calcined magnesite by dry magnetic separation in a strong field, increasing the quality of regular metallurgical powders, and increasing the yield of granular fractions 2 (3)-1 mm.

The results suggest that it is desirable to continue laboratory and semiindustrial studies with the beneficiating of magnesites to obtain experimental batches for allround testing with the aim of manufacturing products.
