Katamnestische Untersuchungen nach Operation eines intrakraniellen Rankenangioms

Zusammenfassung

Es wird über Nachuntersuchungen und Behandlungsergebnisse von 99 Patienten mit intrazerebralen Rankenangiomen berichtet, von denen 91 supratentoriell und 8 infratentoriell gelegen waren. 62 überlebende Patienten konnten nachuntersucht oder durch einen Fragebogen erfaßt werden. Das überraschende Ergebnis der Nachuntersuchungen war, daß sowohl neurologische, vor allem aber psychische Störungen, die präoperativ bestanden hatten, postoperativ sich in vielen Fällen zurückgebildet haben. Daraus wird die Folgerung gezogen, daß die Indikationsstellung zu einem operativen Eingriff nicht von den präoperativ vorhandenen neurologisch-psychischen Ausfallserscheinungen abhängig gemacht werden sollte, sondern von dem Allgemeinzustand des Patienten und der Lokalisation sowie der Größe des Angioms.

Summary

The follow-up investigations and the results of treatment of 99 patients with intracerebral angiomas are described. Of these 91 were supratentorial and 8 were infratentorial. 62 surviving patients could be followed-up, or were assessed by means of a questionnaire. The surprising result of the follow-up was that not only the neurological, but even more the psychical disturbances which had been prominent pre-operatively had resolved post-operatively in many cases. From this the conclusion was drawn that the decision concerning surgical intervention should not be based on the preoperative neurological or psychological symptoms and signs, but on the general condition of the patient and on both the localization and the size of the angioma.
