Clinical experiences with echo-encephalography

  • Published:
Acta Neurochirurgica Aims and scope Submit manuscript

Summary

  1. 1.

The author describes his experiences with “echo-encephalography” in a series of 229 patients.

  2. 2.

The absence of a supratentorial mass was correctly recognised in 146 patients, whilst its presence was correctly recognised in 60 patients. The results were misleading or inconclusive on 23 occasions.

  3. 3.

In spite of the margin of error, echo-encephalography has a considerable clinical value. A series of cases which illustrate this are described.

  4. 4.

The test is quick and harmless and the author concludes that it should be more widely adopted.

Zusammenfassung

  1. 1.
