Familial incidence of intracranial aneurysms

  • Published:
Acta Neurochirurgica Aims and scope Submit manuscript

Summary

Four cases of intracranial aneurysms concerning a brother and sister and a mother and son are reported. In the literature sixteen other cases are described. The possibility of a direct hereditary origin of intracranial aneurysms is considered. The view that the familial occurrence of intracranial aneurysms need not necessarily be dependent on familial anomalies of the vascular walls is discussed.
