Gas myelography by the lumbar route

Its diagnostic value in vertebral and spinal cord pathology

Summary

The authors indicate the importance of gas myelography in the investigation of spinal cord and vertebral pathology. Based on 446 gas myelograms carried out in the Neurosurgical Clinic at Bucharest they describe the roentgenological findings in intravertebral disc pathology, arachnoiditis, spinal cord tumours, and spinal cord atrophy. The authors regard the method as both safe and very useful.

Die Autoren weisen auf die Bedeutung der Gasmyelographie bei krankhaften Prozessen des Spinalkanals und der Wirbelsäule hin. An Hand von 446 Gasmyelographien, die in der Neurochirurgischen Klinik in Bukarest ausgeführt wurden. beschreiben sie die Röntgenbefunde bei Bandscheibenerkrankungen, Arachnitis. Rückenmarkstumoren und Rückenmarksatrophie. Nach Ansicht der Autoren handelt es sich bei dieser Methode um eine unschädliche und wertvolle Hilfsuntersuchung.

Résumé

Les auteurs soulignent l'importance de la myélographie gazeuse dans la pathologie vertébrale et médullaire.

Grâce à 446 cas de myélographies gazeuses exécutés dans la Clinique Neurochirurgicale de Bucarest, ils décrivent les résultats de roentgenthérapie dans la pathologie discale, les arachnoïdites, les tumeurs médullaires et les atrophies médullaires.

Les auteurs estiment que la méthode est inoffensive et utile pour les investigations paracliniques.

Gli autori puntualizzano l'importanza della mielografia gassosa nella patologia del midollo spinale e della spina dorsale. Sulla base di 446 mielografie gassose, condotte nella clinica neurochirurgica di Bucarest, essi descrivono i dati radiograf íci nella patologia dei dischi intervertebrali, delle aracnoiditi, dei tumori spinali e delle atrofie spinali. Gli autori ritengono il metodo innocuo e utile per ricerche paracliniche.

Los autores resaltan la importancia de la mielografía gaseosa en la patologia vertebral y medular.

Describen los resultados roentgenoterápicos en la patología discal, aracnoiditis, tumores medulares y atrofias medulares basandose en 446 estudios con mielografía gaseosa.

Los autores estiman que el método es inofensivo y útil para las investigaciones paraclínicas.
